Matthew Holmes, LMHC
Matthew is Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in treating individuals struggling with eating disorders. Other areas of competency include treating individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, interpersonal and adjustment issues as well as addictions. Matthew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Cazenovia College and Master’s in Community Mental Health Counseling from the College of Saint Rose.
Matthew’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, while at the core, practicing from a humanistic approach. He utilizes techniques that integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, as well as Solution Focused interventions to help individuals develop skills to address and cope with life stressors while promoting emotional health and problem solving abilities.
Matthew has gained experience providing individual, group and family psychotherapy as well as professional experience as a school administrator and as a therapist in Residential Facilities, Intensive Outpatient Programs and College Counseling Centers.
