Mental Health Services

There is help. There is hope.

Across the United States, 1 in every 5 adults experiences some form of mental, behavioral, or emotional concern throughout their lifetime. According to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), more than half of them don’t seek the mental health services they desperately need. Sometimes they don’t have access. Sometimes they’re too scared or ashamed. Sometimes they think they can deal with it by themselves.

Are you one of them?

You’re not alone. If you feel frustrated, empty, discouraged, or lost, we’re here to help. No matter what mental health concern you’re dealing with, there is a licensed, experienced provider here at HPA/LiveWell to compassionately walk with you toward wellness and recovery.

Some of the mental health concerns our team of expert clinicians can guide you through include but are not limited to:

Signs It’s Time to Seek Mental Health Services

Our goal is to normalize mental health treatment. Think about it. You go to the doctor when you’re sick. You go to the dentist when your teeth hurt. But what about the rest of you?

Make your mental health a priority.

If you’re unsure if you need to seek treatment for your mental health, take a look at this brief checklist and see for yourself. Common signs and symptoms can include:

  • You feel uncontrollably sad, angry, or hopeless.
If you’re sad, angry, or hopeless for two weeks or more, or if you just don’t feel like “yourself,” how has this impacted your daily life? If your sleeping or eating habits have changed, if you’ve withdrawn from the people you love or ever thought about suicide, this suggests you may need support from a mental health provider.
  • You’ve experienced loss.
Grief isn’t easy. It’s often unpredictable and can be excruciating. If you’ve experienced loss due to death, divorce, breakup, or (un)employment, you may be grieving. Perhaps you’re feeling the unspoken backlog of grief or unresolved loss. Every loss is valid. Seeking mental health support to work through your grief can help.
  • You’ve experienced trauma.
If you’ve experienced any type of trauma such as an accident, crime, chronic illness, or abuse and neglect, working with a mental health provider can help to process trauma in healthy ways.
  • You’re not doing the things you love.
When your mental health and wellness are out of balance, you may find it impossible to do the things you normally enjoy. If you experience painful emotions while attempting to do the things you love, getting help from a mental health professional can help.
  • You’re using unhealthy ways to cope.
Activities that interfere with your daily life, such as excessive substance use or self-harm, are dangerous. Seeking mental health services can help you strengthen your coping skills.

You Deserve to Feel Better

Feeling challenged by mental, emotional, or behavioral concerns is nothing to be ashamed of. Like many physical illnesses, having a mental illness isn’t the result of something you’ve done. It’s not your fault.

Getting the mental health help you need can have a positive impact on you and others around you. Not only will you improve your overall well being, but you’ll also lower your risk of chronic diseases like cancer or diabetes.

You don’t have to navigate the path to wellness alone. We’re here to help.
