Nicole Tuzinski, LMHC

Nicole Tuzinski is a licensed mental health clinician (LMHC) who specializes in treating children, adolescents and their families with varied mental health concerns. Licensed in the State of New York. Nicole has earned her master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from New England College, and has extensive knowledge and experience working with diverse populations within the mental health field. Nicole provides individual psychotherapy for patients ages six and up, as well as family therapy.

Nicole specializes in Trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy which addresses the specific emotional and mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families who are struggling to overcome the destructive effect of early trauma. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy is especially sensitive to the unique problems of youth with post-traumatic stress and mood disorders resulting from abuse, violence, or grief.

In addition to, Nicole works with clients and their families on developing the child’s social and emotional skills. So that, they can build a solid platform to prompt healthy functioning in the home, school, and community. Nicole focuses on encouraging improvements in the most vital aspects of a child’s life, including increased academic achievement, decreased aggression, and fighting, as well as improve family communication. She utilizes techniques that integrate mindfulness, cognitive therapy and play therapy.
