John McCloskey, PhD

John McCloskey is a New York State licensed psychologist and active member of the NYS Psychological Association. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Prior to this, he completed his predoctoral internship at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts where he received training in the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. 

Dr. McCloskey works with children, adolescents and adults ranging from early childhood to elderly seniors. He is experienced in providing individual, couples and family psychotherapy. He specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders including Post traumatic Stress Disorder; Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder; and couple and family relationship problems. 
 
His therapeutic approaches include problem focused and solution focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and emotionally focused therapy
